SNORKELING
A beach walk to a secluded point on the Garden Route’s map. Snorkel in the crystal clear tidal pools, each with an oceanic world of their own. We’ll pass fossilised dunes on the way, and spend the day basking in the sun (in between our snorkeling) while we munch on an all inclusive picnic lunch. Bucket list, tick!
R400 / € 30 p.p.
KAYAKING
A couple hours on the water, paddling into the wild indigenous forests that surround the streams of Wilderness. Take a swim in our rivers, spot and observe our bird-life and if you’re up for it, take a walk further up stream to the gold at the end of every forest’s rainbow: a freshwater waterfall. (Rock jumping an option here too).

MOUNTAIN BIKING

BIRDING
The Garden Route is sanctuary to a unique diversity of birds, and of course, bird spotting trails. Some hidden between human-height reeds, some winding beneath the clouds of the forest trees. Some trotted on often, some secret and seen by none. And with our range of bird species, it’s likely that every wing and feathered tail you see will sing, well, quite differently. Pack your camera and bring the binos!
Starts at R550 / € 40 p.p.
FISHING
Fringed by the endless ocean and home to several expansive lakes, it’s no wonder fishermen flock to the Garden Route to practice the art of catching a fish. The perfect place for beginners to learn how to fish or for advanced fishermen (and women) to put their skills to the test. An easily accessible and celebrated activity.

TRAIL RUNNING
George offers a natural diversity like no other place in South Africa. The trail system provides you access to surrounding peaks as well as the indigenous forests that lie at its foothills. You’re spoilt for choice with endless single tracks and plenty of dams or streams to cool down in mid-run. We even boast a vertical kilometer where you can climb 1000m in 4km. Take a venture to the northern side of the mountain and see how the landscape changes drastically to a more semi-desert (Karoo) terrain. It truly is trail nirvana.

A travel back in time as you trek up the old Montagu pass on your way to a wine estate nestled on the highest crest of the enchanting Outeniqua mountain range. Good wine, good food and a mesmerizing view. What more could holidays be made of…

Perhaps the most present and relaxing way to experience the natural world of the beautiful Garden Route. Outback riding or guided tours; through forest or along the ocean’s edge, the choice is yours. And it’s one we’re pretty sure you won’t regret making.
